12. Futures Trading API

USDT-margined perpetual contracts: open, track, close and cancel.
Permissions: FUTURES_TRADE to place and cancel, READ_ORDERS to read. Every futures route requires a KYC-verified account, with no exemption.
Futures use borrowed money and you can lose your entire margin. At 10x leverage a 10% move against you wipes out the position, and the exchange can close it without asking you. Read 04. Futures Trading Explained first, and learn the API on spot.

Four differences from spot that catch everyone#

1.
The order type field is orderType here, and type on spot. Same concept, different name.
2.
Open orders and finished orders live at two different endpoints, and they are exactly complementary.
3.
Only limit filters. symbol, orderType, startTime and endTime are accepted, then ignored.
4.
leverage is a plain integer. Every money field around it is a string.

Cancelling is not closing#

DELETE removes an order that has not filled. To exit a position you already hold, send an opposing order with reduceOnly: true.
